The Cajamarca region is located in the northwest of Peru, the main city is Jaen. Cajamarca is a fairly poor region because it is isolated from the major Peruvian cities. Very mountainous area, the main economic resource is agriculture with production of rice, cocoa, corn, mangoes, avocados and of course coffee. There are also many guinea pig farms. Many terroirs overlook the city such as the terroirs of Huabal and central La Palma.
